Update

With a great sigh of relief, I am happy to announce that Erik is uninterested in me.

My apparent discomfort is much assuaged by the fact that it was in fact HE who has some problems.

Wanna guess who is the troublemaker?

The story goes that Erik has decided to call his acquaintances, near and far, to clarify that he is not dating a certain Ms who shall remain nameless. In his anxeity to ensure that everybody do not listen to spurious rumours, he has endeavoured, by fair means and foul, to tell everybody whom he deems as his friends, what is the truth.

Hence, the phone calls (thrice!), the SMS-es (countless), the attempts to meet up for tea (once!), and finally, my final decision to just give in and listen to what he has to say.

Apparently, he has rejected a certain lady, and that lady is now spreading news that he's seeing Ms J.

Which according to him, is completely untrue.

A quick check with James confirmed the point that he has indeed spoken, pleaded and discussed the rumour with all and sundry. James thought that Erik ought to give the issue a rest. It's pretty pointless to respond to baseless rumours.

As for me, well, I did advise the distraught man that he should
Consider sorting out the matter with the rumour monger;
Drop the monger for new friends
Ignore.

He thinks that
#1 is not feasible (don't ask me whhhhyyy...)
#2 is very likely
#3 is what he's doing now

Anyway, the whole point is that HOORAY! I'm not the object of his affections. I've never felt stronger relief than this.

As what a blogger has discussed recently, one must not assume too much. In fact it's important to be accurate and not too presumptous.

Okaaaay, I know I was jumping to conclusions to bit.
